Reflecting on Impact
We are addicted to drama.
Only attracted to the things that bring trauma.
Where do you stand?
We are pushed to take a position.
Between the bad and the worst.
It seems we have a short memory.
What is good and what is bad?
Because we, as humans, are capable of both.
We are the only species that knows how to suffer. And we can use that knowledge to make others suffer.
No other species can do that because they are not self-conscious.
A lion does not kill because he wants to inflict suffering. It kills because it is hungry.
My words probably won’t change much.
I’m writing just to reflect.
And I think:
What can I do to make the world a better place?
How grateful should I feel that I don’t know what war is?
How lucky am I to never have seen any atrocities committed?
How fortunate am I not to know what a bomb strike sounds like?
Am I taking advantage of this privilege and not complaining about my life?
Am I using this privilege for aiming to be the most authentic version of myself?
Am I being useful enough for the community?
